What You Need to Know

Pointe Coupee Residents:
Notice of garbage collection change April 1st

What You Need To Know

  • Pelican Waste starting April 1st will be the new official waste provider for Pointe Coupee Parish. A new 95-gallon rolling garbage cart will be provided to all households by Pelican Waste free of charge. The carts will be delivered to homes the week of March 25, 2019. Begin using this cart immediately upon receiving it.
  • If you have 2 carts now, you will receive 2 replacement carts.
  • All garbage MUST be placed in the garbage cart to be picked up. Bags of garbage put next to the cart WILL NOT be collected.
  • The parish owns your old garbage cart, and will pick up your cart when the new cart is delivered.
  • Your garbage collection days MAY change. A flyer will be delivered to you with your new garbage cart. This flyer will tell you if your collection days change. You can also go to www.pelicanwaste.net/residential/PointeCoupee to see the route changes.
  • Garbage collection will be by brand new automated trucks, with only a garbage truck driver. There will be NO garbage men to collect garbage left by the roadside.
  • IF YOU LIVE IN THE CITY OF NEW ROADS: The city will also change to Pelican Waste for garbage collection. You will be provided a new Pelican Waste cart. Your old cart is owned by Republic Services, and it will pick up their carts.
